ORDINANCE NO. '52-77 BY:Messrs. Usher, Brockman, Chinnock, Magn0tto, McBride, Salmon, Sinagra, AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the ~Probation Officer of the Lakewood Municipal Court and the time and method of payment thereof. WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section IM~0].33, provides that the legislative authority of a municipality shall fix the compensation of a probation officer appointed by the Judge of a municipal court, and WHEREAS, the Judge of the Lakewood Municipal Court has appointed a . probation officer effective September 12, 1977, and WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensation of the said probation officer and direct the time and method of payment thereof; now, therefQre, ~ BE IT ORDAINED BY 'THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the compensation of the probation officer of tt~e Lakewood Municipal Court is hereby fixed at Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) per annum effective September 12, 1977. Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is hereby authorized and directed to pay said compensation of the probation officer as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly installments or in equal installments every two weeks. Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take· effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, otherwise it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest periqd allowed by law.
