ORDINANCE NO.: 64-77 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Chinnock, Magnotto, McBride <br />Salmon, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of <br />Public Works to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest <br />and best bidder after approval by Council, for the remodeling of Fire Station <br />No. 1 and remodeling necessary at Fire Station No. 3 to relocate the Chief's <br />office and the office of the Fire Prevention Bureau from Station No. 1 to <br />Station No. 3 . <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has determined that rather than to construct <br />a new fire station at this time, it would be in the best interest of the City <br />to remodel Fire Station No. 1 situated at 1418 Warren Road, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has also been determined that this department could <br />operate more efficiently if the Chief's office and the Fire Prevention Bureau <br />were located at Station No. 3, 12567 Clifton Road, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has authorized the preparation of plans, speci- <br />fications and contract documents by the architectural firm of Richard L. <br />Bowen & Associates, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned plans and specifications are now on <br />file in the Engineer's office, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate <br />preservation of the public safety and welfare in that there should be no <br />delay in remodeling Fire Stations No. 1 and No. 3, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he'is hereby <br />authorized and directed to advertise for bids and to enter into contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder after approval by Council, for the remodeling <br />of Fire Station No. 1 and remodeling necessary at Fire Station No. 3 to re- <br />locate the Chief's Office and the office of the Fire Prevention Bureau from <br />Station No. 1 to Station No. 3. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That necessary funds, for this project will be taken <br />from Federal Revenue Sharing. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
