Brockman, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Sinagra, Usher <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 353.03 and par~.graph (b) of <br />Section 355.05 of the Traffic Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />Lakewood relating to parking on Saturdays in the City of Lakewood, Ohio. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City <br />.of Lakewood and its residents that there be free. parking on Saturdays in all off- <br />street parking areas and in all parking meter zones on the streets of the'City of <br />Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City <br />of Lakewood and its residents that there be free parking on Saturdays in certain <br />off-street parking areas, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure in that such <br />parking privileges should be in effect during the approaching holiday season, <br />in that it provides for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare and provides fbr the usual daily operation of a municipal department; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 353.03 of the Traffic Code of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: <br /> <br />353.03 PARKING TIME LIMITS <br /> <br />Parking or standing a vehicle in the spaces designated within <br />off-street parking areas shall be lawful for any period as <br />specified by appropriate signs in designated areas of the municipal <br />parking garages or upon the deposit of the coin or coins required <br />for legal parking time and in a sufficient amount so as to pro- <br />hibit any vehicle so parked from being parked overtime in such <br />space, as such time and amount are disclosed on the meter installed <br />for the control of such space. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized and directed to <br />establish the location and time limit for designated areas in the <br />municipal parking garages and for each individual parking meter <br />which is installed for the control of each parking space, and the <br />amount of coin required to be deposited therein. <br /> <br />Parking meters shall be operated in the off-street parking areas <br />every day between the hours of 8:00 a.m..and 6:00 p.m. except <br />Sundays and holidays as specified in Section 355.05 (b). <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Parking or standing a vehicle in the spaces designated within <br />off-street parking areas shall be lawful for any period as <br />specified by appropriate signs in designated areas of the municipal <br />parking garages or upon the deposit of the coin or coins required <br />for legal parking time and in a sufficient amount so as to pro- <br />hibit any vehicle so parked from being parked overtime in such <br />space, as such time and amount are disclosed on the meter installed <br />for the control of such space. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized and directed to <br />establish the location and time limit for designated areas in the <br />municipal parking garages and for each individual parking meter <br />which is installed for the control of each parking space, and the <br />amount of coin required to be deposited therein. <br /> <br />Parking meters shall be operated in the off-street parking areas <br />every day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. except <br />Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as specified in Section 355.05 (b). <br /> <br /> <br />
