-4- Section 2. In the Division of Fire, Department of Public Safety, Group 1 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have continuously served in the Division of Fire two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the D~rector of Public Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Fire in some other city. Group 2 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have served contin- uously in the Division of Fire for more tt~an one (]) year but ].ess than two (2) years. Group 3 Firemen shall consist of ffr~..men who .have served in thc Division of Fire for less than one (1) year. Provided, however, that there shall be no increase in salary to'a fireman by reason of said grouping until certified by' the Director or Public Safety. Section 3. In the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, Group 1 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have continuously served in the Division of Police two (2) full years or who, in tile judgment of the Director of Public Safety, have acquired equivalent- training and acquired experience in the Division of P61ice in some other city. Group 2 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have Served continuously in the Division of Police for more than one (1) year but less than two (2) years. Group 3 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have served in the D~vision of Police for less than one (1) year. Provided, how- ever, that there shall be no increase in salary to any employee by reason of the said grouping until certified by the Director of Public Safety. Section 4. Salary of the Director of Law shall cover all ordinary service, including legal advice and opinions as requested by Council, tile Mayor, and various departments, the drafting of 0rd~nances and resolutions, attendance at Council meetings and the administration and supervision of the Law Department. The Law Directors and Prosecutors shall receive additional professional fees for the handling of any litigation ~nvolving the City of Lakewood, or other extraordinary services, such fees not to exceed the minimum fees prescribed by the minimum fee schedule of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association. Section 5. Whenever the term "Class A", "Class B", "Class C", "Class D", "Class E", and "Class F", is used in this ordinance, such classification shall be determined and fixed by the appointing authority. Section 6. Ail compensation provided for herein shall be paid in equal instal- lments every two (2) weeks. Section 7. That th~s ordinance is hereby declared to bc an emergency measure for the reasons stated in thc preamble hereof and prowidcd ~t receives the a'f~i~ative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force i~ediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; and Ordinance No. 18-77, adopted May 9, 1977 and a~l other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith shall be and the same is hereby amended· Adop ted~~z~/~., ~~ ~~~~ .
