ORDINANCE NO. 7-78 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brown, Chinnock, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Brockman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 135.02 of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to Paid.holidays <br />for members of the Division of Police of the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure, providing <br />for the usual daily operation of municipal departments; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That existing Section 135.02 of the Administrative Code <br />of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 135.02 HOLIDAYS <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Police shall be granted as holidays <br />New Year's Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, <br />Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, <br />Christmas Day, and Member's Birthday in the calendar year 1974 <br />and each succeeding calendar year thereafter. Members may be <br />required to work on the foregoing named holidays; provided, <br />however, that in the event any member is required to work on any <br />such holiday such member shall be granted time off, equal to the <br />number of hours worked on the holiday, during a succeeding <br />calendar week as designated by the Chief of Police, which time <br />off shall apply on the work week as hereinbefore defined and <br />limited. <br /> <br />In the event a member's customary day off falls on any of said <br />holidays, such member shall be given a day off in lieu of the holiday. <br />In all such cases the date of such day or hours off duty shall be <br />designated by the Chief of Police so as to cause minimum interference <br />with customary and normal operation of the Division. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 135.02 HOLIDAYS <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Police shall be granted as holidays <br />New Year's Day, Presidents Day,.
