ORDINANCE NO. 8-78 BY: Messrs. Brockman, Chinnock <br /> Brown, McBride, Salmon, <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend'Paragraph (b)(i)2. of Section 149.08 <br />of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood <br />relating to vacations for members of the Division of Police. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Paragraph (b)(i)2. of Section 149.08 of the <br />Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now <br />reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.08 VACATIONS <br /> <br />(b)(i) <br /> <br />Vacation time for members of the Division of Police and <br />Fire shall be earned in one calendar year and taken in a <br />subsequent calendar year and shall be prorated in accordance <br />with the table set forth in subsegtion (a)(ii) provided, <br />however: <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Police who have completed ten <br />(10) years of service by June 1 of any given year shall <br />be entitled to three (3) weeks vacation in that year and <br />each succeeding year through the fourteenth (14th) year <br />of employment,' provided further that all full-time permanent <br />members of said division who have completed fifteen (15) <br />years of service by June 1 of any given year shall be <br />entitled to four (4) weeks vacation in that year and all <br />subsequent years of employment. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.08 VACATIONS <br /> <br />(b) (i) <br /> <br />Vacation time for members of the Division of Police and Fire <br />shall, be earned in one calendar year and taken in a subsequent <br />calendar year and shall be prorated in accordance with the <br />table set forth in subsection (a)(ii) provided, however: <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Police who have completed eight <br />(8) years of service by June 1 of any given year shall <br />be entitled to three (3) weeks vacation in that year and <br />each succeeding year through the thirteenth (13th) year <br />of employment, provided further that all full-time permanent <br />members of said division who have completed fourteen (14) <br />years of service by June 1 of any given year shall be <br />entitled to four (4) weeks vacation in that year and each <br />succeeding year through the nineteenth (19th) year of <br />employment, provided further that all. full-time permanent <br />members of said division who have completed twenty (20) <br />years of service by June ! of ~ny given year shall be <br />entitled to four (4) weeks plus two (2) days vacation in <br />that year and all subsequent years of employment. <br /> <br />Apprcve.~l: <br /> <br /> Section 3.
