w Section 2. In the Division of Fire, Department of'Public Safety, Group 1 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have continuously served in the Division of Fire two t2) full years or who, in the judgment-'of the Director of Public Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Fire in some other city. Group 2 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have served continuously in the Division of Fire for more than one (1) year but less than two (2) years. Group 3 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have served in the Division of F.ire for less than one (1) year. Provided, however,' that there shall be no increase in salary to a fireman by reason of said grouping until certified by the Director of Public Safety. Section 3. In the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, Group 1 patrolmen shall~ consist of patrolmen who have continuously served in the Division of Police two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of Public Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Police in some other ci.ty. Group 2 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have served continuousl'y in the Division of Police for more than one (1)year but less than two (2) yea'~s. Group 3 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have served in the Division of Police for less than one (1) year. Provided, how- ever, that there shall be no 'ncrease in salary to any employee by reason of the said grouping until certified 'by the Director of Public Safety. Section 4. Salary of the ~Director of Law shall cover all ordinary service, including legal advice and opinions as requested by Council, the Mayor, and various departments, the drafting of ordinances and reso~u~i'ons,attendance at Council meetings and the administration and supervision of the Law Department. The Law Directors and Prosecutors shall receive addi.tional professi~onal fees for the handling of any litigation involving the ~City of Lakewood, or other extra- ordinary services, such fees not to exceed the minimum fees prescribed by the minimum fee schedule of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association. Section 5. All compensation provided for herein Shall be paid in equal install- ments every two (2) weeks, Section 6. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative ~ote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and.be in force immediately upon its adoption and.approval by the Mayor.; and Ordinance No. 44-78 adoPted May 2, 1978 and 'all other ordinances or parts or ordinances inconsistent herewith shall be and are. h'ereby repealed.
