In the Division of Fire, Department of'Public Safety, Group 1 <br />Firemen shall consist of firemen who have continuously served in the Division <br />of Fire two t2) full years or who, in the judgment-'of the Director of Public <br />Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the <br />Division of Fire in some other city. Group 2 Firemen shall consist of firemen <br />who have served continuously in the Division of Fire for more than one (1) year <br />but less than two (2) years. Group 3 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have <br />served in the Division of F.ire for less than one (1) year. Provided, however,' <br />that there shall be no increase in salary to a fireman by reason of said grouping <br />until certified by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br />Section 3. In the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, Group 1 <br />patrolmen shall~ consist of patrolmen who have continuously served in the Division <br />of Police two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of Public <br />Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division <br />of Police in some other ci.ty. Group 2 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who <br />have served continuousl'y in the Division of Police for more than one (1)year <br />but less than two (2) yea'~s. Group 3 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who <br />have served in the Division of Police for less than one (1) year. Provided, how- <br />ever, that there shall be no 'ncrease in salary to any employee by reason of <br />the said grouping until certified 'by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br />Section 4. Salary of the ~Director of Law shall cover all ordinary service, <br />including legal advice and opinions as requested by Council, the Mayor, and <br />various departments, the drafting of ordinances and reso~u~i'ons,attendance at <br />Council meetings and the administration and supervision of the Law Department. <br />The Law Directors and Prosecutors shall receive addi.tional professi~onal fees for <br />the handling of any litigation involving the ~City of Lakewood, or other extra- <br />ordinary services, such fees not to exceed the minimum fees prescribed by the <br />minimum fee schedule of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association. <br /> <br />Section 5. All compensation provided for herein Shall be paid in equal install- <br />ments every two (2) weeks, <br /> <br />Section 6. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative ~ote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and.be in force immediately upon its adoption and.approval by <br />the Mayor.; and Ordinance No. 44-78 adoPted May 2, 1978 and 'all other ordinances <br />or parts or ordinances inconsistent herewith shall be and are. h'ereby repealed. <br /> <br />Approved~;1//0-~/~ /~f <br /> <br /> <br />
