ORDINANCE NO. 24-78 BY: Messrs. Salmon, Usher, Brown, Chinnock, Magnotto, McBride AN ~-~GENUY ORDINANCE fixiug the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood }~ncipal Court, the time and method of payment thereof and repealing Section I of Ordinance No. 25-77 adopted }~y 16, 1977. ~MEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code SectionlgO1.31provides that the legislative authority of this municipality shall fix the annual salary of the Clerk of Courts, and %MEREAS, said Act Further provides that the compensation of the Clerk shall be patd three-fifths from the City Treasury and two-fifths from the Treasury of the County in which the city is located~ and, P~{EREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual dai/y operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensation of the Clerk and d~rect the time and method ofpayment thereof; now~ therefor% BE IT ORDAINED BT THE COL~CIL OF THE CITY OF IAK~,~OOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood Municipal Court is hereby fixed at .J;2h.O00.O0 per annum effective l,~rch l, 1978. Section 2. That the Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood is hereby authorized and directed to pay three-fifths of the compensation of the Clerk as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly insta_13ments or in equal installments every two weeks. Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all Members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force imnediate]y upon its adoption and approval by the }~yor and Section I of Ordiuance No. 25-?? adopted ~y 16, 1977 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith, shall be and are hereby repeale4.
