ORDINANCE NO. 31-78 BY: Messrs. Salmon, Usher, Brockman, Brown, Chinnock, Magno.tto, McBride AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Paragraph (b) of Section 149.07 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to longevity compensation for members of the Division of Fire of t-he City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of municipal departments, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section I. That paragraph (b) of Section 149.07 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: Section 149.O7 LONGEVITY COMPENSATION (b) Division of Fire. Full-time permanent employees of the Division of Fire shall be paid semi-annually, in the months of June and December, in addition to such-salary or compensation that may be provided by any other ordinance, additional compensation based on the number oF continuous full yea~s of service, inctud- 'ng interim military service, as determined on the dates of June 15 and December 15 of each year, in semi-annual oayments as follows: (1) For five years through n'ne years of service ............ $1OO.OO (2) For ten years through fourteen years of service ......... $125.00 (3) For fifteen years through nineteen years of serv'ce ..... $150.00 (4) For twenty years through twenty-four years of service...$225.00 (5) For twenty-five years or more ........................... S275.00 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 149.O7 LONGEVITY COMPENSATION (b) Division of Fire. Full-time permanent members of the Div'sion of Fire shall be paid, semi-annually, on the .paydates closest to June 15 and December 15, in addition to such salary or compensation that may be provided by any other ordinance, additional compensation based on the number of cont'nuous full years of service, including interim m'litary service, as determined on the dates of June 15 and December 15 of each year,-computed in accordance w'th the following semi-annual rate schedule: (1) For five years through nine years of service ........... $112.50 (2) For ten years, through fourteen years of serv'ce ......... $137.50 (3) For fifteen years through nineteen years of service ..... S162.50 (4) For twenty years through twenty-four years of service...S237.50 (5) For twenty-five years or more ........................... $287.50 Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor and existing paragraph (b) of Section 149.O7 adopted February 19, 1974, shall be and the same is hereby repealed.
