ORDINANCE NO. 31-78 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Salmon, Usher, Brockman, <br /> Brown, Chinnock, Magno.tto, McBride <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Paragraph (b) of Section 149.07 of the <br />Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood <br />relating to longevity compensation for members of the Division of Fire of <br />t-he City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual daily operation of municipal departments, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section I. That paragraph (b) of Section 149.07 of the Administrative Code <br />of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.O7 LONGEVITY COMPENSATION <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Division of Fire. Full-time permanent employees of the Division <br />of Fire shall be paid semi-annually, in the months of June and <br />December, in addition to such-salary or compensation that may <br />be provided by any other ordinance, additional compensation <br />based on the number oF continuous full yea~s of service, inctud- <br />'ng interim military service, as determined on the dates of June 15 <br />and December 15 of each year, in semi-annual oayments as follows: <br /> <br />(1) For five years through n'ne years of service ............ $1OO.OO <br />(2) For ten years through fourteen years of service ......... $125.00 <br />(3) For fifteen years through nineteen years of serv'ce ..... $150.00 <br />(4) For twenty years through twenty-four years of service...$225.00 <br />(5) For twenty-five years or more ........................... S275.00 <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.O7 LONGEVITY COMPENSATION <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Division of Fire. Full-time permanent members of the Div'sion of <br />Fire shall be paid, semi-annually, on the .paydates closest to <br />June 15 and December 15, in addition to such salary or compensation <br />that may be provided by any other ordinance, additional compensation <br />based on the number of cont'nuous full years of service, including <br />interim m'litary service, as determined on the dates of June 15 and <br />December 15 of each year,-computed in accordance w'th the following <br />semi-annual rate schedule: <br /> <br />(1) For five years through nine years of service ........... $112.50 <br />(2) For ten years, through fourteen years of serv'ce ......... $137.50 <br />(3) For fifteen years through nineteen years of service ..... S162.50 <br />(4) For twenty years through twenty-four years of service...S237.50 <br />(5) For twenty-five years or more ........................... $287.50 <br /> <br />Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor <br />and existing paragraph (b) of Section 149.O7 adopted February 19, 1974, shall <br />be and the same is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
