ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />34-78 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brockman, Chinnock, Magnotto <br /> McBride, Salmon, USher, Brown <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Paragraph (b) (i) 1 of Section 149.08 of <br />the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood <br />relating to vacations'for members of the Division of Fire. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual dai'~iy operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCI.L OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section t. That Paragraph (b) (i) 1 of Section 149.O8 of the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.08 VACATIONS <br /> <br />(b) (i) <br /> <br />Vacation time for members of the Division of Police and <br />Eire shall be earned in one calendar year and taken in <br />a subsequent calendar year and shal] be prorated in <br />accordance with the table set forth in subsection (a) (ii) <br />provided, however: <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Fire who have completed ten <br />(I0) years of service by June 1 of any given year shall <br />be entitled to three (3) weeks vacation in that year <br />and all subsequent years of employment, provided further <br />that all full-time permanent members of said division <br />who have completed fifteen (15) years of service by <br />June ! of any given year shall be entitled tO four <br />weeks' vacation in that year and all subsequent years <br />of employment. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 149.08 VACATIONS <br /> <br />(b) (i) Vacatio~ time for members of the Division of Police and Fire <br /> shall be earned in one calendar year and taken in a subsequent <br /> calendar year and shall be prorated in accordance with the table <br /> set forth in subsection (a) (ii) provided, however: <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Fire who have completed one (1) <br />year of service and not more than seven (7) years of <br />service by June 1 of any given year shall be entitled <br />to two (2) weeks vacation. <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Fire who have completed seven <br />(7) years of service and not more than thirteen (13) years <br />of service by June 1 of any give~ year shall be entitled <br />to three (3) weeks vacation in that year and each succeeding <br />year. <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Fire who have completed thirteen <br />(13) years of service and not more than twenty (20) years <br />of service by June 1 of any given year shall be entitled to <br />(4) weeks vacation in that year and each succeeding year. <br /> <br />Members of the Division of Fire who have completed twenty <br />(20) years of service by dune 1 of any given year shall be <br />entitled to four (4) weeks and one working day (24 hour <br />period) in that year and each succeeding year. <br /> <br /> <br />
