for ordinance sub- <br />mitted with the <br />docket <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 35-78 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Messrs[ Brown, Chinnoc <br />Magnotto, McBride, <br />Salmon, Usher, Brockmal <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the <br />Director of Finance to approve compensatory time off equal to <br />one work day to all personnel who performed their duties and <br />responsibilities as an employee of the City of Lakewood in <br />the Public Works Department, Fire Department, Police Departments <br />and Administrative personnel at City Hall and the Senior Center <br />on January 26, 1978. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due to blizzard conditions on January 26, <br />1978 City Hall was closed pursuant to an executive order, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, not withstanding this closing many employees <br />reported for work and did in fact perform work under adverse <br />conditions, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, because of the compensation disparity between <br />those employees who did report'for work and those who did not, <br />it is only fitting that certain employees be granted compensatory <br />time off equal to one work day, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constititues an emergency <br />measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and <br />he is hereby authorized and directed to approve compensatory <br />time off equal to one work day for all persons who performed <br />their duties and responsibilities as an employee of the <br />City of Lakewood in the Public Works Department, Fire Department, <br />Police Departments and AdminiStrative personnel at City }{all <br />and the Senior Center on January 26, 1978 as may be recommended <br />and approved by the employee's Department Head. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it received the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise at the earliest period provided by law. ~_ <br /> <br />Adopted: ~d~..~[~f~ 3,/~y~ <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
