<br />Firemen shall consist of firu,,,e,~ who have contimmusly ~crvcd in the Division
<br />of F~re two (2) full ye. ars or who. in thc .]~.tgm~'nt of thc Director of Public
<br />Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired experience in the
<br />Division of Fire tn ~ome other city. Croup 2 F~remcn ~hall consist of firemen
<br />who have served conti, nuously in the Division of Fire for more than one (1) year
<br />but less than two (2) y,,ar~;. Group 3 l"ir~'men s;llall c-nsist of firemen who have
<br />served tn the Division of l"ir{~ for D,ss than one (I) year. Provided, however,
<br />that there shall be no int:rea,;e in n;~l:~ry ir, m Fireman by reason of said grouping
<br />until certified by the Director of Public Safety.

<br />Section 3. In the Division of Police, Department, of l'f,blic Safety, Group 1
<br />patrolmen shall con.;ist of p;~trolmen who have contimmusly served in the Division

<br />but less than two (2) years. Group 3 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who
<br />have served in the I)iv[sion of Police for less than one (1) year. Provided,
<br />however, that there shal. I be no ~ncrea~;c in salary to a,y employee by reason of
<br />the said grouping until certified by the Director of Public Safety.

<br /> Section 4. Salary of the. Director of l,;~w ~;If:~ll cover ;ill ordinary service,
<br /> including legal advice and -pi~nions a~; rCrll,,~sted by Council, the Nayor, and
<br />various dcpr~rtments, the d,':~fl.i,~g of ordinancr,~: and rcnolutions, attendance at
<br />Co,ncil mcct[nF/; and tim m]mln[~;tra~ i,m and ';~tparv[sirm of the l.aw Del~artmcnt.
<br />The l,aw Directors and l'ro~;c, cutorr; shall rcc{,ivt, additional profensional fees
<br />for the handling of ;my litigation inw~lvin~ the Ci. ty ~f Lakewood, or other
<br />extraordinary service~;, ~;,~ch fei',; no~. t,, cxc~,,~d the minimum fees prescribed
<br />by the minimum fee schedule of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association.

<br />Section 5. Alt. r'rmll,,ms;~tion provided for herr:In shall be paid in equal
<br />installments every two (2) weeks.

<br />Section 6. 'Fife position of Director of l',blic Works is hereby eliminated
<br />effective April 1st, 1978; provided however, the Director of Finance is hereby
<br />au~horizdd' to pa5' the pres~mt Director of Public Works tSis compens~i~ton'as
<br />provided by Ordinance No. 18-77 up to and including said date.
