ORDINANCE NO. 58-78 <br /> <br />· BY: Messrs. Brown, Chinnock, Magnotto, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Brockman <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to designate and name the softball field <br />located in Madison Park "George J. Usher Field". <br /> <br />WHEREAS, There is located in Madison Park one of the finest softSall <br />fields in the Greater Cleveland Area, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, This Council deems it fitting and proper to designate <br />and name said field in honor of the late George J. Usher for <br />his extraordinary contributions to the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, This ordinance con~itbtes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for <br />the further reason that the softball field should be named at the <br />earliest possible time to accommodate the summer baseball program; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section I. That the softball field located in Madison Park in the <br />City of Lakewood is hereby designated and named, effective immediately, <br />"George J. Usher Field". <br /> <br />Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor: otherwise <br />it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest <br />period allowed by law. ~ <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approve ~., <br /> <br /> <br />
