ORDINANCE NO. 82-78 <br /> <br />BY: Magnotto, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Wendling, Brockman, Brown, Chinnoc~ <br /> <br /> 'AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the DireCtor of Public <br />Works to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder after approval by Council for the installation of new storm <br />relief sewers on Mars Avenue and Arden Avenue. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that in accordance with previous <br />engineering studies ~onducted by the firm of Watermation, Inc., new storm <br />relief sewers are needed on Mars and Arden Avenues in order to relieve <br />the extensive basement flooding on these streets, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of con- <br />struction drawings and specifications by the firm of Watermation, Inc., and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the afore mentioned construction drawings and specifi- <br />cations are now on file in the Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure pro- <br />viding for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for <br />the immediate preservation .of the public safety and welfare; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with <br />the lowest and best bidder after advertisement according to law and after <br />approval by Council for the installation of new storm relief-sewers on <br />Mars 'Avenue and Arden Avenue <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of such construction is estimated at <br />$375,000.00, which funds are to be made available from the Waste Water <br /> Sewer Faciltties Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately uDon <br />its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and <br />be in force after the earliest.period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted; <br /> <br /> ./ Clerk~ <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
