ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />19-79 BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Chinnock, McNally, <br />Salmon, Wendling, Brockman <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE to supplement Chapter 1123 General Provisions <br />of the Zoning Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lake- <br />wood by enacting new Section 1123.15 to establish a maximum height <br />for all transmitting - receiving and receiving antennas in all <br />zoning classifications in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 1123 General Provisions of the <br />Zoning Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be <br />and the same is hereby supplemented by enacting new Section 1123.15 <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />1123.15 TRANSMITTING-RECEIVING AND RECEIVING ANTENNAS <br /> <br />All transmitting-receiving and receiving antennas shall <br />be erected in accordance with the following standards and <br />conditions: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Television antennas shall not have a h'eight greater <br />than 10 feet above the ridge line of the roof of a <br />residential structure on which they are mounted. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Omnidirectional and directional antennas, other <br />than television antennas, shall not be greater in <br />height than 20 feet above the ridge line of a <br />residential structure on which they are mounted. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />No part of a rotatable antenna shall be erected so <br />that when it is rotated 360° its elements will come <br />within one foot of a property line, extended <br />vertically. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Antennas on towers or ground-mounted antennas may be <br />permitted by the Board of Zoning Code ADpeals <br />provided that the conditions hereinafter set forth <br />are met: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Such antennas shall be permitted only in the <br />rear yard. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />The applicant for a permit for the erection of <br />such antennas shall file an application with <br />the Building Department, which application <br />shall include drawings and published sDecifica- <br />t'ions of the manufacturer to establish that the <br />tower on the proper foundation will withstand <br />a wind load of 85 miles per hour when erected <br />north of the center line of Lake Avenue. In <br />all other locations the wind load shall not be <br />less than 70 miles per hour. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />No antenna on a tower or a ground-mounted antenna' <br />shall exceed fifty-five (55) feet in height <br />above the grade of the lot. <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />All abutting property owners shall be notified <br />of applications for ground-mounted antennas. <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />In considering a request under this section, the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals may prescribe such <br />conditions and safeguards as it deems necessary, <br />desirable or appropriate. <br /> <br /> <br />
