ORDINANCE NO. 50-79 <br /> <br />Salmon, Wendling,Brockman, <br />Brown, McBride, McNally <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor, as ex-officio Director <br />of Public Works, to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest <br />and best bidder for the installation of new storm relief sewers on Lincoln Avenue <br />and Bayes Avenue. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that in accordance with previous <br />engineering studies conducted by the firm of Watermation, Inc., new storm <br />relief sewers are needed on Lincoln and Bayes Avenues in order to r'elieve <br />the extensive basement flooding on these streets, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of construction <br />drawings and specifications by the firm of Watermation, Inc., and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings and specifications <br />are now on file in the Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate <br />preservation of the public safety and welfare; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, as ex-officio Director of Public Works, <br />be and he is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter <br />into a contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement according <br />to law for the installation of new storm relief sewers on Lincoln Avenue and <br />Bayes Avenue. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of such construction is estimated at <br />$608,000.00, which funds are to be made available from Community Development <br />· Block Grant Funds~ <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br /> <br />Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and be <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted <br /> <br />in force after the earliest period <br /> <br /> ! /~res~nt <br /> Clerk/ <br /> <br /> <br />
