ORDINANCE N,O. <br /> <br />71-79 <br /> <br />BY: Brockman, Brown, Chinnoc <br /> McNally,Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating the position and fixing <br />the salary for a Program Administrator Commercial and Economic <br />Development in the Departmen~t of Community Development effective <br />October 1, 1979. ' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Community Development Department through the <br />Community Development Corporation has implemented a Store Front <br />Renovation Program, which has resulted in investment of approximately <br />two million dollars within the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Community Development Department through the <br />Community Development Corporation has developed the Town Center Plan <br />and begun the process of implementing the same, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Community Development Department through the <br />Community Development Corporation desires to expand commercial <br />programs to include a Gateway to Lakewood Program to beautify the <br />eastern entrance to the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of the success of these programs, <br />the City of Lakewood has gained national recognition through the <br />Store Front Renovation Program, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to properly administer and expand the <br />present com'mercial and economic developments of the City, it is <br />necessary to employ additional personnel, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The position of Program Administrator - <br />Commercial and Economic Development, is hereby created and the <br />compensation hereby established in the Department of Community <br />Development, effective October 1, 1979. <br /> <br />1. Department of CommunitS Development <br /> <br />Program Administrator - Commercial and <br />Economic Development <br /> <br />$14,000 - $19,000 <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, otherwise <br />it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest <br />period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: (~....,~-'L." ,/, / '¢ ?
