-2- <br /> <br />Section 2. That Section 149.12 (a) of the Administrative Code of <br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as <br />follows: <br /> <br />149.12.(a) SICK LEAVE FOR ANNUAL SALARIED EMPLOYEES AND <br /> CERTAIN HOURLY EMPLOYEES <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Each annual salaried employee except members of the <br />Divisions of Police and Fire and each full-time per- <br />manent hourly employee who is not covered by a <br />collective bargaining agreement with the City, who <br />has completed his probationary period, shall be <br />entitled to sick leave on account of illness or <br />injury incapacitating him from work, without loss <br />of regular pay, vacation, seniority or other rights <br />or privileges in an amount not to exceed the following: <br />effective January 1, 1978, each employee shall receive <br />one and one-half days credited sick leave and thereafter <br />shall earn one and one-half days per month beginning <br />with February 1, 1978, not to exceed eighteen calendar <br />days per year. <br />Sick leave accrued prior to January 1, 1978, shall be <br />taken into account in computing the sick leave accumula- <br />tion and conversion benefit of such employee pursuant <br />to Section 149.111 <br /> <br />be the same and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />149.12 (a) SICK LEAVE FOR ANNUAL SALARIED EMPLOYEES AND <br /> CERTAIN HOURLY EMPLOYEES <br /> <br />(a) Each annual salaried employee except members of the <br /> Division of Police and Fire and each full-time permanent <br /> hourly employee who is not covered by a Collective <br /> Bargaining Agreement with the City, except Foreman <br /> Class A, who has completed his probationary period, <br /> shall be entitled to sick leave on account of illness or <br /> injury incapacitating him from work, without loss of <br /> regular pay, vacation, seniority or other rights or <br /> privileges in an amount not to exceed the following: <br /> Effective January 1, 1978 each employee shall receive <br /> one and one-half days credited sick leave and thereafter <br /> shall earn one and one-half days per month beginning with <br /> February 1, 1978, not to exceed eighteen (18) calendar <br /> days per year. <br /> Sick leave accrued prior to January 1, 1979 shall be <br /> taken into. account in~or,~puting the ~ick'~'leave~accu~,~- <br /> ulation and ~6nversion benefit of said employee pursuant <br /> to Section 149.lll of this Code. <br /> <br />Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to.Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and <br />approval by the Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect at the earliest <br />period allowed by law, and existing Section 149.11 (a)(1) and Section <br />149.12 (a), adopted July 18, 1977 and June~5, 1978 shall be and the <br />same are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~/~-//¢7¢ <br /> <br />Approved '~~ /'¢//~7~ <br /> <br /> <br />
