ORDINANCE NO. 75-79 BY: Brockman, Brown, Chinnock, <br /> McBride, McNally, Salmon, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor to <br />enter into a contract for the rehabilitation of the property located at <br />1440 Arthur Avenue with the Bailey Construction Company. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance 39-79, this Council purchased <br />said property for a congregate living facility and so authorized the <br />rehabilitation thereof, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, following advertisement according to law, the Bailey <br />Construction Company has been selected as the lowest and best bidder, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance hereby constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now <br />therefore, ' <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a contract with the Bailey Construction Company for <br />the rehabilitation of the property located at 1440 Arthur Avenue for the <br />purpose of rehabilitating the property which shall be used as a congregate <br />living facility. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to appropriate from the 1979 Community Developemtn <br />Block Grant the cost of said rehabilitation work to be performed by the <br />Bailey Construction Company at 1440 Arthur Avenue at a cost not to exceed $18,500. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: <:~c'~.2-~'~ ~ / ~ ?/~ <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />dY'res i dent <br /> <br /> <br />
