and to the Police Department members when they are rendering service <br /> outside of their own subdivisions, pursuant to such agreements; and <br /> <br /> ~RIEREAS, each of the aforesaid municipal corporations t~as <br /> authorized the execution of this agreement by proper legislative author- <br /> ity and by proper legislation by their respective Councils; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto, each in consideration of <br /> the mutual promises and obligations set forth, agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. For the purpose of affording additional police assistance <br />and protection to themselves and their inhabitants, there shall be an <br />interchange of the services of the Police Departments, and use of police <br />personnel and equipment, bet~een the parties hereto, and each of said <br />parties will assist the other party hereto by responding to any call <br />from the M~yor, Director of Public Safety, Chief of Police or other party <br />designated by them, being a member of the municipal corporation which is <br />a party to this agreement, with its police equipment, personnel, and/or <br />other emergency vehicles, and will render like services ~hile so respond- <br />ing as it renders to itself and its own inhabitants, provided, hdwever~ <br />that ~.n no case shall the party he.to called upon or rendering such ser- <br />vice be liable in damage to the other party hereto or any of its inhabi.- <br />rants, or contractual obligees, for failure to answer any call, or'for <br />lack of speed in answering any such call, or for any inadequacy of equip- <br />ment, n~ligent operation of equipment, or for any cause whatsoever growing <br />out of such use of said police equipment and personnel, nor shall the <br />party hereto, which issued such call, be liable in any manner or event for <br />damages or loss of equipment or personnel suffered by the party answering <br />such call. <br /> <br /> 2. Each of the parties hereto agrees to respond to an emergency <br />in the other contracting municipal corporations, on the call from the <br />Mayor, Director of Public Safety, Chief of Police or other party designat- <br />ed by them, of such other contracting municipal corporation, for services <br />of the Police Department and police equipment at ti~ose tin,es and places <br /> <br /> that would tend to require inm~ediate or long-tez~ participation of police <br /> services of two (2) or more of the ~nunicipal corporations being a party <br /> to this agreement.
