ORDINANCE NO. 24-80 <br /> <br />BY: McBride, Salmon, Wen~ling, Brown, <br /> ,Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE approving Collective Bargaining Agreements <br />(together with Letters of Agreement attached thereto and made a part hereof) <br />with the Lakewood Association of Fire F~ghters, Local No. 382 of the <br />International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO, establishing conditions <br />of employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain employees <br />of the Division of Fire of the City of Lakewood and authorizing the Mayor <br />and the Director of Finance to sign said Agreements on behalf of the City, and <br />ratifying their signatures affixed thereto. <br /> WHEREAS, discussions and negotiations have been conducted on behalf <br />of the City with representatives of the said Lakewood Association of Fire <br />Fighters, Local No. 382 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, <br />AFL-Cf0, with respect to conditions of employment, working conditions and <br />various benefits for certain employees of the Division of Fire of the City <br />of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, agreements.have been reached in the course of said dis- <br />cussions and negotiations with respect to the conditions of employment, <br />working conditions and various benefits for the certain employees aforementioned~ <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in the best interest of <br />the City to approve Collective Bargaining Agreements between the City <br />the Lakewood Association of Fire Fighters and to authorize, the Mayor and <br />Director of Finance to sign such Agreements on behalf of the City,.and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, and for the further <br />reason that it is necessary for the approval of said Agreements at the earliest <br />possible time, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAIHED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHI0: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Collective Barga.lnlng Agreements (together with <br />Letters of Agreement attached thereto and made a part thereof) with the <br />Lakewood Association of Fire Fighters, Local No. 382 of the International <br />Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO, the original copies of which are on <br />file in the office of the Mayor of the City of Lakewood and is made a part <br />hereof as though written fully herein, is hereby adopted, ratified and approved <br />and the Mayor and the Director of Finance are hereby authorized and. directed <br />for and on behalf of the City to affix their signatures thereto an~ their signa- <br />tures affixed thereto are hereby ratified. <br /> Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions, or parts of ordi- <br />nances or resolutions which are inconsistent with this Ordinance and the Collec- <br />tive Bargaining Agreements made a part hereof are hereby repealed as of January 1, <br />1980 to the extent that they pertain to employees in the bargaining unit covered <br />by the Collective Bargaining Agreements and are :inconsistent with this Ordinance <br />including Collective Bargaining Agreements attached hereto and ma~e a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of'all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and appEoval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect an~~.be in force ~£~ and after the earliest <br /> <br />period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved: ~:~ ~//~'2/'~f~ <br /> <br /> <br />
