ORDINANCE NO. 46-80 <br /> <br />BY: Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Wendling, Brown, Chinnock <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend paragraph (a) of Section 1321~01 <br />of the Building Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood <br />relating to the licensing of contractors to require licensing of plumbers <br />effective January !, 1981. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure pro- <br />viding for the preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department; how, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That paragraph a of Section 1321.01 of the Building <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1321.O1 (a) LICENSING REQUIREMENT <br /> <br />a) No person, corporation, partnership, firm or other business <br />association shall, acting in the capacity of a contractor, engage <br />in heating and/or air-conditioning work or electrical work for <br />which a permit is required without first obtaining a license for <br />each trade from the Building Commissioner. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />132101 (a) LICENSING REQUIREMENT <br /> <br />a) No person, corporation, partnership, firm or other business <br />association shall, acting in the capacity of a contractor, engage <br />in heating and/or air-conditioning work, electrical work, or <br />plumbing work, for which a permit is required without first <br />obtaining a license for each trade from the Building Commissioner. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force <br />on January 1, 1981. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That it is found and determined that all formal actions~i <br />of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br />of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period <br />provided by law and Ordinance No. 84-58, adopted October 6, 1958 shall be and <br />the same is hereby repealed as of January 1, 1981. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
