ORDINANCE NO. 61-80 <br /> <br />BY: Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Brown <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor as ex-officio Director <br />of Public Safety to take competitive bids without advertising and to enter into <br />a contract or contracts for the repair and rehabilitation ~f the single family <br />dwelling located at 25608 Lake Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the residence at 15608 Lake Avenue has been determined to be <br />an unsafe structure and not safe for human habitation and its present condition <br />is such as to constitute a danger to the health, safety and general welfare of <br />those occupants of surrounding properties, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been authorized and directed to repair this <br />property pursuant to a decision of the Board of Building Standards and Building <br />Code Appeals, as confirmed by this Council in the adoption of Resolution No. 5465 <br />on April 21, 1980, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to properly maintain this property it is immediately <br />necessary to enter into a contract or contracts for its repair and rehabilitation, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the <br />Department of Public Safety and Divisions of Building and Health and it is <br />immediately necessary to enter into a contract or contracts for necessary repairs <br />for the immediate preservation of the public heal'th~safety and welfare; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF~LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Mayor as ex-officio Director of Public Safety be <br />and he is hereby authorized and directed to take competitive bids without <br />advertising and to enter into a contract or contracts for the repair and rehabilitation <br />of the single family dwelling located at 15608 Lake Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio in order <br />to bring said dwelling into compliance with the Building and Health Codes of the <br />City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the costs of said contract or contracts hereby <br />authorized have been appropriated and shall be paid from the 1980 Community <br />Development Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period <br /> <br />allowed by law. <br />Adopted: /~L~_~/q <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />--Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
