ORDINANCE NO. ~:~C2~ <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Paragraph (c) of Section 156.02 of <br />the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood <br />· to desianate the Director of the Department of Economic & Community Develop- <br /> ment, or such employee of the Department of Economic & Community Development <br /> as the Director shall designate as .Secretary of the Board of BUilding Standards <br /> and Building Appeals. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the majOrity of issues to come before the Board of Building <br />Standards and Building Appeals relate to Community Development projects, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is determined that it is in the best interests of the <br />City to have the Director of Community Development or his designee act as <br />Secretary to the Board for more efficient operation of the Board, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the in~nediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department;.now, therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Paragraph (c) of Section 156.02 of. the Administrative <br />Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br />156.02 MEMBERSHIP; ORGANIZATION. <br /> <br /> (c) The Administrative Assistant to the Mayor shall be the <br />secretary to the Board and shall be responsible for the preparation <br />of the docket and the preparation of the minutes for all the Board <br />meetings. The secretary shall have no vote. <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />156.02 MEMBERSHIP; ORGANIZATION. <br /> <br /> (c) The Director of the Department of Economic & Community <br />Development, or such employee of the Department of Economic & Community <br />Development as the Director shall designate shall be the Secretary to <br />the Board and shall be responsible for the preparation of the docket <br />and the minutes for all Board meetings and shall perform all other duties <br />incident to the office of. a Secretary and such other duties as may be <br />assigned to the Secretary by the.Board. The Secretary shall have no vote. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared to-be'an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; othe~.lise it shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law and the current Paragraph (c) of Section 156.02 <br />of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood <br />adopted January 15, 1979 shall be and the same is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Pres i dent <br /> <br /> <br />
