BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ordinance authorizing and directing the Director of <br />~O5~i~c,.~or~s to employ by contract the firm of McDohnell, Proudfoot & Associates, <br />~n~as~zconsulting engineers for the purpose of preparing engineering and con- <br />~Z,muct~imn~drawings, documents and specifications for the City's proposed traffic <br />~i~n'a~- :upgrading project. <br /> <br /> ~W~{EREAS, this Council determines that it is desirable to upgrade the <br />~!s~t~:Q§~tra~fic signal system along various routes throughout the City to <br />~$~l:~%ta~te~.tra ffi c fl ow, and <br /> <br /> · WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is necessary to employ the <br />services of a consulting engineer in connection with the upgrading of the <br />existing traffic signal system, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authoro <br />ized and directed to employ:by' contract the firm of McDonnell, Proudfood & Assoc.~ <br />iates, 5360 Heathe~downs Boulevard, Toledo, Ohio, 43614, as consulting engineers <br />for the purpose of preparing engineering and construction drawings, documents <br />and specificatiomfor the City's proposed traffic signal upgrading project. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That The Traffic Signal Improvement Fund is hereby created <br />and the cost of said consulting engineering services in the amount of $96,700 now and <br />is hereby appropriated from said Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that al)formal actions of this <br />Council concering and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meet- <br />ings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to bean emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; other~ <br />wise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by <br />la~. ~ <br /> <br /> ~/PRESIDENT~ ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
