ORDINANCE NO. 17-81 BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Graham, McBride, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Director of Public Works to <br />advertise for bids and to enter into a contract or contracts with the lowest and best <br />bidder or bidders to provide for the pi. ck-up of refuse for condominiums <br />situated in the city. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council has determined that the City shall provide <br />for the pick-up of refuse from condominiums situated within the city, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the equipment owned by the City is insufficient to provide <br />this service to said condominiums and that the refuse pick-up service should <br />be contracted out to others, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to so contract the <br />pick-up of refuse from the condominium units to independent contractors, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, t~is Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the Public safety and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of a Municipal Department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract or <br />contracts with the lowest and best bidder or bidders after advertisement accord- <br />ing to law, for the pick-up of refuse from condominiums in the City and in <br />accordance with the specifications now on file in the Office of Public Works. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the costs of such contracted refuse pick-up shall <br />be paid from the General Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. //rr~~~~~ <br />Adopted: ~ ~ 6/ //,~/ <br /> <br />Approved. <br /> ! <br /> <br /> <br />
