ORDINANCE NO. 17-81 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Wendling AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Director of Public Works to advertise for bids and to enter into a contract or contracts with the lowest and best bidder or bidders to provide for the pi. ck-up of refuse for condominiums situated in the city. WHEREAS, This Council has determined that the City shall provide for the pick-up of refuse from condominiums situated within the city, and WHEREAS, the equipment owned by the City is insufficient to provide this service to said condominiums and that the refuse pick-up service should be contracted out to others, and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to so contract the pick-up of refuse from the condominium units to independent contractors, and WHEREAS, t~is Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the Public safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a Municipal Department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract or contracts with the lowest and best bidder or bidders after advertisement accord- ing to law, for the pick-up of refuse from condominiums in the City and in accordance with the specifications now on file in the Office of Public Works. Section 2. That the costs of such contracted refuse pick-up shall be paid from the General Fund. Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. //rr~~~~~ Adopted: ~ ~ 6/ //,~/ Approved. !
