ORDINANCE NO. 27-81 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE authorizing the Director of Finance to pay from City <br />funds the actual premium costs of hospitalization coverage for members of <br />Counci 1. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article III,Section 3 of the Amended Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood provides, in substance that salaries and compensation of the members <br />of Council may be changed by ordinance providing such 6rdinance is.adopted <br />not less than thirty (30) days prior to the final date fixed by law for the <br />filing of nominating petitions by candidates for the office of Councilman of <br />the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the next regular municipal election at which the people <br />will vote for candidates for the office of Councilman of the City of Lakewood <br />will be held during the month of November, 1981, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Lakewood provides that no salary <br />increase or decrease shall take effect with respect to any member of Council <br />during the term for which he is elected, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines it to be appropriate that the City <br />pay for costs of hospitalization coverage for members of Council; now, there- <br />fo re, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINEID BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That commencing January l, 1982, the Director of Finance <br />is hereby authorized to pay from City funds the actual premium costs of hospi- <br />talization coverage, and any subsequent increase in costs therefore, if any, <br />for Councilmen elected at large in the City who are enrolled in the City's <br />hospitalization plan. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That commencing January l, 1984, the Director of Finance <br />is hereby authorized to pay from City funds the actual premium costs of hospi- <br />talization coverage including any increase in costs therefore, if any, for <br />Councilmen representing each of the four wards in the City who are enrolled in. <br />the City's hospitalization plan. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopt- <br />ed in an open meeting of this Council, and that.all such deliberations of this <br />Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions, were <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br />including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
