the regular places of yoting in the City and during the usual hours for holding elections as provided in the general laws of the State of Ohio. Section 2. That the ballot submitting the question of the adoption of the foregoing proposed amendment shall read as follows: "PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO Shall the proposed amendment of Article III, Section 2 of the Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood, Ohio: ARTICLE III. THE COUNCIL. SECTION 2. QUALIFICATIONS AND VACANCIES. All members of Council shall be electors of the City, and each member of Council elected from a ward of the City shall 'be a resident of the ward from which such member was elected. Any member who ceases to possess this qualification shall forthwith forfeit his office. Vacancies in Council shall be filled by the remaining members thereof, provided that in the event Council does not so appoint by a majority of its remain- ing members within sixty (60) days of the creation of the vacancy, the Mayor shall be empowered to fill such vacancy. Such appointee shall hold office for the unexpired term of the member in whose office the vacancy occurs or until his succes- sor is elected and qualified. A successor shall be elected at the next regular municipal election, provided that such va- cancy occurs more than two years and one hundred and five days (2 years and 105 days) prior to the date of such election. However. if any vacancy results from a recall election the vacancy shall be filled in the manner provided by this Charter. (Upon adoption of this amended Section, the existing Article III, Section 2 of the Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood shall be repealed.) be adopted?" That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed ~o: forward a certified copy of this ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County; cause notice of the foregoing proposed Charter amendment to be given pursuant To Section 107.10 of the Admini- strative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, Ohio and Section 731.211 of the Revised Code of Ohio; and give public notice of the time and place of holding such election by publication of notice thereof at least ten (10) days prior to the day of such election in a newspaper published and of general circulation in the City. -2-
