ORDINANCE NO. 89-81 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, <br /> Wendling, Salmon <br /> <br /> AN EMERGNECY ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of SIX THOUSAND ($6,000) <br />DOLLARS from the State Highway Fund to be used for the purpose of installing <br />~eoestriah Walk/Don't Walk signals at the intersection of Bunts Road and <br />Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. Lukes School is located at the intersection of Bunts <br />Road and Clifton Boulevard in the City and young grade school students crossing <br />the street do not have a satisfactory view of the new traffic light installed <br />at that intersection, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, bgth the Police Department and the Department of Public <br />Works have determined that there is a need for the installation of ped- <br />estria~ Walk/Don!t Walk signals at that intersection, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the appropriation of the City fonds would enable the City <br />to install pedestria~ Walk/Don't Walk signals at the inter~ection of.,Bunts <br />Road and Clifton Boulevard without further delay, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the in~nediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare and <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the sum of SIX THOUSAND ($6,000) DOLLARS is hereby <br />appropriated from the State Highway Fund which funds are to be used for the <br />purpose ofinstalling pedestrian Walk/Don't Walk signals at the intersection <br />of Bunts Road and Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopt- <br />ed in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this <br />Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, <br />were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br />including Section 121,22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of COuncil, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allow- <br />ed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />'~_~/YPRESIDENT <br /> <br />Approved~~~/ /~y/ <br /> <br /> <br />
