ORDINANCE NO. 89-81 BY: Brown, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Wendling, Salmon AN EMERGNECY ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of SIX THOUSAND ($6,000) DOLLARS from the State Highway Fund to be used for the purpose of installing ~eoestriah Walk/Don't Walk signals at the intersection of Bunts Road and Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, St. Lukes School is located at the intersection of Bunts Road and Clifton Boulevard in the City and young grade school students crossing the street do not have a satisfactory view of the new traffic light installed at that intersection, and WHEREAS, bgth the Police Department and the Department of Public Works have determined that there is a need for the installation of ped- estria~ Walk/Don!t Walk signals at that intersection, and WHEREAS, the appropriation of the City fonds would enable the City to install pedestria~ Walk/Don't Walk signals at the inter~ection of.,Bunts Road and Clifton Boulevard without further delay, and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the in~nediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the sum of SIX THOUSAND ($6,000) DOLLARS is hereby appropriated from the State Highway Fund which funds are to be used for the purpose ofinstalling pedestrian Walk/Don't Walk signals at the intersection of Bunts Road and Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopt- ed in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121,22 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of COuncil, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allow- ed by law.
