ORDINANCE NO. 97-81 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of SEVEN THOUSAND ($7,000) <br />DOLLARS from the General Fund to be used to pay for newspaper publication and mailing <br />6f the ProposedCharter Amendments to the citizens of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to inform the electors of the City of Lakewood and <br />to comply with State and Charter pro¥isions, Council has de~enmined it to be <br />necessary to mail the proposed Ordinances to the electors of the City of Lake- <br />wood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the appropriation of the sum of SEVEN THOUSAND (~7,000) <br />DOLLARS would enable the City to mail the proposed amendments to the electors <br />of the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance conssututes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare and <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now; therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the sum of SEVEN THOUSAND ($7,000) DOLLARS is here- <br />by appropriated from the General Fund whi~ch funds are to be used for the purpose <br />of newspaper publication and mailing of the proposed Charter Amendments ~o the <br />electors of the City of Lakewood. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adop- <br />ted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this <br /> Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements includ- <br />ing Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br /> <br />
