ORDINANCE NO. 101-82 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating positions and fixing salaries of the <br />annual, salaried sworn personnel in the Division of Fire which shall be <br />effective January 1, 1983. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of <br />public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to fix the compensation of <br />employees; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Positions are hereby created and the compensation of <br />annual salaried sworn personnel in the Division of Fire with the exception of <br />the Chief of Fire, shall be as follows effective January l, 1983, pursuant to <br />the terms of the agreement between the City of Lakewood and Lakewood Association <br />of Fire Fighters Local #382 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, <br />AFL-CIO, effective January l, 1982, through December 31, 1983: <br /> <br />Not to <br />Exceed Rank <br /> <br />3 Assistant Fire Chiefs $33,148.75 <br />12 Fire Captains 28,825.00 <br />1 Fire Marshal 28,825.00 <br />1 Fireman detailed as electrician 26,423.00 <br />1 Fireman detailed as mechanic 26,423.00 <br />56 Fireman <br /> Firemen - Group 1 <br /> Firemen - Group 2 <br /> Firemen - Group 3 <br /> <br />24,021.00 <br />22,313.00 <br />18,406.00 <br /> <br /> Section 2. In the Division of Fire, Department of Public Safety, <br />Group 1 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have continuously served in the <br />Division of Fire two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the Director of <br />Public Safety, have acquired equivalant training and acquired experience in the <br />Division of Fire in some other City. Group 2 Firemen shall consist of firemen <br />who have served continuously in the Division of Fire for more than one (1) year <br />but less than two (2) years. Group 3 Firemen shall consist of firemen who have <br />served in the Division of Fire for less than one (1) year. Provided, however, <br />that there shall be no increase in salary to a fireman by reason of said <br />grouping until certified by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in <br />meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />~/LERK <br /> <br /> <br />
