ORDINANCE NO. 26-82 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Graham, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Director of Public Works to advertise <br />for bids and to enter into a contract or contracts with the lowest and best <br />bidder or bidders to provide for the pick-up of refuse for condominiums situated <br />in the City. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council has determined that the City shall provide for the <br />pick-up of refuse from condominiums situated within the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, equipment owned by the City is insufficient to provide this service <br />to said condominiums and that the refuse pick-up service should be contracted <br />out to others, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to so contract the pick-up <br />of refuse from the condom±nium units to independent contractors, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and <br />daily operation of a Municipal Department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />providing for <br />for the usual <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract or contracts for <br />a period of three years and subject to the approval of Council with the lowest and <br />best bidder or bidders after advertisement according to law,~f6r the pickup of refuse <br />from condominiums in the City and in accordance with the specifications now on file in <br />the office of Public Works. <br /> Section 2. That the costs of such contracted refuse pick-up shall be paid <br /> from the General Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an e~ergency meas- <br />ure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided '~ receives the <br />affirmative rot of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed <br />by law. <br /> <br />ADOPTED: <br /> <br /> <br />
