ORDINANCE NO. 46-82 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating positions and fixing salaries of the <br />annual salaried sworn personnel in the Division of Police of the Department of <br />puDlic Safety except the Police Chief, effective January 1, 1982, and repealing <br />all'other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent therewith. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that in the interest <br />of the public welfare and safety it is necessary to create positions and fix <br />the compensation of employees; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section I. Positions are hereby created and the compensation of the <br />annual salaried, sworn personnel in the Division of Police, Department of <br />Public Safety, with the exception of the Chief of Police, shall be as follows <br />effective January 1, 1982: <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY - DIVISION OF POLICE <br /> <br />Not to <br />Exceed Rank <br /> <br /> 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 7 <br />22 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />51 <br /> <br />Captain <br />Lieutenant <br />Sergeant <br />Investigator <br />Patrolmen detailed as Detec- <br />tives before 6/5/76 <br />Patrolmen & Policewomen de- <br />tailed as Investigators after <br />6/5/76 <br />Safety Education Officer <br />Patrolmen and Policewomen <br /> Grade 1 <br /> Grade 2 <br /> Grade 3 <br /> <br />$32,802.15 <br /> 29,028.46 <br /> 26,389.51 <br /> <br />23,990.47 <br /> <br />23,766.26 <br />23,093.63 <br /> <br />22,421.00 <br />20,866.00 <br />16,591.00 <br /> <br /> Section 2. In the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, <br />Group 1 patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have continuously served in <br />the Division of Police two (2) full years or who, in the judgment of the <br />Director of Public Safety, have acquired equivalent training and acquired <br />experience in the Division of Police in some other City. Group 2 patrolmen <br />shall consist of patrolmen who have served continuously in the Division of <br />Police for more than one (1) year but less than two (2) years. Group 3 <br />patrolmen shall consist of patrolmen who have served in the Division of Police <br />for less than one (1) year. Provided, however, that there shall be no increase <br />in salary to any employee by reason of the said grouping until certified by the <br />Director of Public Safety. · <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br />this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, <br />were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br />including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
