furnish the Trustee with a certificate signed by the Fiscal Officer,
stating the extent to which the previsions of (f) and (ii) of the next
preceding paragraph are to be availed of with respect to such Mandatory
Sinking Fund Requirement (and corresponding mandatory redemption
obligation); unless such certificate is so timely furnished by the
Issuer, the Mandatory Sinking Fund Requirement (and corresponding manda-
tory redemption obligation) payable on such Mandatory Redemption Date
shall not be reduced.

(h) Selection of Series 1983 Bonds for Redemption and Method
of Redemption. If less than all of the outstanding Series 1983 Bonds
are to be called pursuant to optional redemption at one time, they shall
be called in inverse order of the maturities of the Series 1983 Bonds
outstanding; provided, however, that the Issuer may elect to select the
Series 1983 Bonds to be redeemed pursuant to any optional redemption in
any other manner, and if the Issuer does so elect and so informs the
Trustee in writing signed by the Fiscal Officer at least forty-five days
prior to the date fixed for such redemption, then the Trustee shall
select the Series 1983 Bonds to be redeemed in the manner specified by
the Issuer. If less than all of the outstanding Series 1983 Bonds of
one maturity are to be called for redemption, whether optional or manda-
tory, the selection of such Series 1983 Bonds, or portions of fully
registered Series 1983 Bonds, of such maturity to be called shall be
made by lot by the Trustee in such manner as the Trustee shall deter-
mine.

Notice of call for any redemption of Series 1983 Bonds,
identifying the Series 1983 Bonds or portions thereof to be redeemed,
the date fixed for redemption and the places where the amounts due upon
such redemption are payable shall be given by the Trustee on behalf of
the Issuer by mailing a copy of the redemption notice by registered or
certified mail at least thirty days prior to the date fixed for redemp-
tion to the Bank and the registered holder or holders of each Series
1983 Bond to be called for redemption at the address shown on the regis-
tration books kept by the Trustee; provided however, that failure to
give such notice to any Series 1983 Bondholder by mailing, or any defect
in such notice so mailed, shall not affect the validity of the proceed-
ings for the redemption of the Series 1983 Bonds.

If Series 1983 Bonds or portions thereof are duly called for
redemption and if on such redemption date moneys for the redemption of
all Series 1983 Bonds to be redeemed, together with interest to the
redemption date and any applicable redemption premium, shall be held by
the Trustee or Paying Agents so as to be available therefor, then from
and after such redemption date such Series 1983 Bonds shall cease to
bear interest.

-18-
