ORDINANCE 113-83 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN E}~RGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the City Engineer to <br />advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder after advertisement accoridng to law for the rehabilitation of <br />the Lakewood Park Breakwall. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that the existing breakwall <br />and slope are badly deteriorated and in urgent need of rehabilitation <br />and stabilization, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of <br />construction drawings and specifications by the consulting firm of <br />Dalton, Dalton and Newport, Incorporated, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings and <br />specifications are now on file in the City Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> Wq{EREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing the usual daily operation of a municipal department and <br />for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement <br />according to law for the rehabilitation of the Lakewood Park <br />Breakwall. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of this improvement is estimated <br />at $1,558,000 which funds are to be made available from the Lakewood <br />Park Breakwall Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise <br />it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Approve d :~~_~ gkl 1~ ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
