ORDINANCE NO: 60-83 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Chinnock, <br />Graham, McBride, Salmo~ <br />Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the City Engineer to advertise for bids <br />and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement accord- <br />ing to law for the installation of a new water main on Granger Avenue between Clifton <br />Boulevard and Detroit Avenue in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that the Water main on Granger Avenue be- <br />tween Clifton Boulevard and Detroit Avenue is badly deteriorated and in urgent need <br />of replacement, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of construction draw- <br />ings and specifications by the Lakewood Engineering Department, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings and specifications are <br />now on file in the City Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department and for the immediate preservation <br />of the public safety and welfare; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder after advertisement according to law for the installation of a new water <br />main on Granger Avenue between Clifton Boulevard and Detroit Avenue in the City <br />of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of such construction is estimated at $150,000 <br />which funds are to be made available from the Community Development Block Grant <br />Funds. <br /> <br /> Section~3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> <br />
