ORDINANCE NO. 64-83 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement Section 149.15 of the Administra- <br />tive Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by enacting new <br />paragraph (f) to provide for partial payment of a dental plan for administrative <br />full time City employees. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, members of the Division of Police and Fire and those full <br />time hourly employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the City <br />now participate in employee dental plans, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that administrative full time city <br />employees should also, as a fringe benefit of employment, be permitted to parti- <br />pate in a dental insurance plan, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section l. That Section 149.15 of the Administrative Code of the Codi- <br />fied Ordinances of the City of Lakewood shall be and the same is hereby supple- <br />mented by enacting new paragraph (f) to read as follows: <br /> <br />149.15 HOSPITALIZATION COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay from <br />City funds one-half ()) of the actual premium rate of dental <br />insurance coverage as may be established by the City for all <br />annual salaried employees including Foremen Class A employees <br />and the Chiefs of the Divisions of Police and Fire but ex- <br />cluding all other members of the Divisions of Police and <br />Fire and full time permanent hourly employees covered by a <br />collective bargaining agreement with the City. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in <br />meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency, <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed <br />by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved:~ <br /> <br /> <br />
