ORDINANCE NO. 64-83 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement Section 149.15 of the Administra- tive Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by enacting new paragraph (f) to provide for partial payment of a dental plan for administrative full time City employees. WHEREAS, members of the Division of Police and Fire and those full time hourly employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the City now participate in employee dental plans, and WHEREAS, this Council determines that administrative full time city employees should also, as a fringe benefit of employment, be permitted to parti- pate in a dental insurance plan, and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section l. That Section 149.15 of the Administrative Code of the Codi- fied Ordinances of the City of Lakewood shall be and the same is hereby supple- mented by enacting new paragraph (f) to read as follows: 149.15 HOSPITALIZATION COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES. (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay from City funds one-half ()) of the actual premium rate of dental insurance coverage as may be established by the City for all annual salaried employees including Foremen Class A employees and the Chiefs of the Divisions of Police and Fire but ex- cluding all other members of the Divisions of Police and Fire and full time permanent hourly employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the City. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency, measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law.
