ORDINANCE NO, 82-83 BY:Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher McBride, Graham, Wendling AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 147.01 and to repeal Sections 147.02 and 147.03 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to bonds for City employees. WHEREAS, the City has reviewed Chapter 147 of the Administative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to bonds for the em- ployees with its insurance consultant, The Wyatt Company, and WHEREAS, said consultant recommended that not only should the amount of the bonds be increased to $100,000, but that certain specifically required bonds be eliminated so that all such employees of the City would come within the blanket provisions of the City's blanket bond for faithful performance, and WHEREAS, this Council is in agreement with its consultant that the a- forementioned changes should be made, and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Section 147.01 of the Administrative Code of the Codi- fied Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as follows: 147.01 BLANKET BOND FOR CITY EMPLOYEES. A blanket bond in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) shall be purchased by the City to indemnify it a- gainst losses sustained by the City as the result of fraud or dishonesty of all of its employees. "Employee" as used herein, means all officers and subordinates who are not re- quired by law to give bond conditioned for the faithful per- formance of their duties. shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 147.01 !BLANKET BOND FOR CITY EMPLOYEES. A blanket bond in the amount of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000) Dollars shall be purchased by the City to indem- nify it against losses sustained by the City as a result of fraud or dishonesty of all of its employees, including em- ployees of the Lakewood Municipal Court. Section 2. That Section 147.02 and Section 147.03 of the Administra- tive Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood shall be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
