ORDINANCE NO: 94-83 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the City Engineer to <br />advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder after advertisement according to law for the purchasing of pre- <br />cast concrete armor units to be used for the rehabilitation of the <br />Lakewood Park Breakwall. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that the existing breakwall <br />and slope are badly deteriorated and in urgent need of rehabilitation <br />and stabilization, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of con- <br />struction drawings and specifications by the consulting firm of Dalton, <br />Dalton and Newport, Incorporated, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings and speci- <br />fications are now on file in the City Engineer's office, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing the usual daily operation of a municipal department and <br />for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement <br />according to law for the purchasing of precast concrete armor <br />units to be used for the rehabilitation of the Lakewood Park <br />Breakwall. <br /> <br /> Section 2, That the cost of such materials is estimated <br />at $870,000 which funds are to be made available from the Lakewood <br />Park Breakwall Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons sta~ed in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mem- <br />bers elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force imme- <br />diately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it <br />shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed <br /> <br />Adopted: ~~ /~f~ <br /> ! ~_/p'reszdentv , <br /> <br />Adopted~~ 7/ /?f3 <br /> <br /> <br />
