ORDINANCE NO. 97-83 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling AN E~'i£RGE~;CY ORDINA~CE amending Ordinance 20-83 and additionally appropri- ating dollars to the various funds of the City of Lakewood and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has in place various contracts with the Lakewood Board of Education so as to allow reimbursement for losses suf- fered by the Municipal Recreation Programs, and WHEREAS, the City has settled all transactions between the City of Lake- wood and the Lakewood Board of Education on January 3, 1983 by forwarding a check in the amount of $69,244.28, and WHEREAS, the Lakewood Board of Education has presented invoices totalling $205,931.02 and, WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council and the Administration to clear up such deficiences; now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio: Section 1.That Ordinance No. 20-83 hereby reads as follows: To be appropriated from the General Fund 15,320,000 Transfer from General Fund to Capital Improvements Fund 1,000,000 is hereby amended to read as follows: To be appropriated from the General Fund 15,320,000 Transfer from General Fund to Capital Improvements Fund 794,068.98, Reimbursement to Lakewood Board of Education 205,931.02 Total 1,O00,O00.O0 Section 2. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to forward to the Lakewood Board of Education the amount of $205,931.02 to cover losses sutfered in the Municipal Recreation Programs. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such delibera- tions of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, otherwise it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
