ORDINANCE NO. 6-84 BY: Brown, Chinnock,Gallagher, <br /> Graham, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE approving a Collective Bargaining Agreement <br />with Western Cuyahoga Lodge No. 25, Fraternal Order of Police, establishing <br />conditions of employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain <br />employees of the Department of Public Safety of the City of Lakewood, and <br />authorizing the Mayor to sign said Agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a prior Collective Bargaining Agreement entered into between <br />the City of Lakewood and Western Cuyahoga Lodge No. 25, Fraternal Order of <br />Police terminated on December 31, 1983, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, discussions and negotiations have been continued subsequently <br />on behalf of the City with representatives of Lodge No. 25, Fraternal Order of <br />Police with respect to conditions of employment, working conditions, and <br />various benefits for certain employees of the Department of Public Safety of <br />the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, agreement has been reached in the course of said discussions <br />and negotiations with respect to the conditions of employment, working conditions <br />and various benefits for certain employees aforementioned, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in the best interest of <br />the City to approve said Collective Bargaining Agreement and authorize the Mayor <br />to sign same on behalf of the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department, and for the further reason that <br />it is necessary to approve said Agreement at the earliest possible time; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Western <br />Cuyahoga Lodge No. 25, Fraternal Order of Police, and effective for the period <br />of January 1, 1984, to December 31, 1985, an original copy of which is on file <br />in the Office of the Mayor of the City of Lakewood and is made a part hereof <br />as though written fully herein, is hereby adopted, ratified and approved, and <br />the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of <br />Lakewood to affix his signature thereto. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions or parts of <br />ordinances or resolutions which are inconsistent with the provisions of this <br />ordinance and/or the Collective Bargaining Agreement made a part hereof, are <br />hereby repealed as of January 1, 1984, to the extent that they pertain to the <br />employees in the bargaining unit covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement <br />and are inconsistent with this ordinance, including the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement referred to herein and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />held in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the <br />Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
