ORDINANCE NO. 11-84 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Graham, Salmon, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor to purchase <br />certain real property located at 1477 Belle Avenue hereinafter more <br />particularly described. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hospital Board of Trustees five-year plan included a <br />recommendation that suitable property in the Hospital vicinity be acquired <br />as it becomes available for future requirements of the Hospital's present <br />programs and facilities, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hospital Administration has established a property acquisi- <br />tion policy which requires consultation with the Mayor, Chairman of the Hospital <br />Board of Trustees' Finance Committee and the Chairman of the City Council <br />Hospital Committee prior to an offer being made by the Hospital to the <br />property owner, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an approved offer was made to the property owners and said <br />property'owners have accepted same, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of Lakewood Hospital by Resolution 822 <br />'adopted January 24, 1984 requested Council adopt appropriate legislation <br /> authorizing the acquisition of the subject property for future Hospital <br /> expansion, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the <br />usUal daily operation of a municipal department and for the further reason <br />that the owners have agreed to sell said property for the consideration <br />herein stipulated and this COuncil determines it to be in the best interest <br />of the City that the property be purchased as soon as possible. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed <br />to purchase from Mary B. Trayte and Herbert J. Trayte <br />the following described property: <br /> <br /> Situated in the City of Lakewood, County of Cuyahoga and <br /> State of Ohio and known as being Sublot No. ll9 in the Belle <br /> Avenue allotment of part of original Rockport Township, <br /> Section No. 22, as shown by the recorded plat in Volume 41 of <br /> Maps, Page 23 of Cuyahoga County records, and being 45 feet <br /> front on the easterly side of Belle Avenue and extending back <br /> 187.52 feet on the northerly line, 187.41 feet on the southerly <br /> line and being ~5 feet wide in the rear, as appears by said <br /> plat. <br /> <br />and to pay therefor the sum of Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($75,000.00). <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the title to said property shall be subject to the <br />approval of the Director of Law; that taxes and assessments shall be pro- <br />rated as of the date of the filing of the Deed for record using the last <br />available tax rate and valuation for computing tax prorations; that the Direc- <br />tor of Finance be and he is hereby authorized to pay the amount set forth in <br /> <br /> <br />
