ORDINANCE NO. 48-84 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> Satmon, Wendting <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend paragraph (a)(1) of Section 149.08 of <br />the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relat- <br />ing to vacations. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That paragraph (a)(1) of Section 149.08 of the Adminsitra- <br />tire Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as fol- <br />lows: <br /> <br /> 149.08 VACATIONS. <br /> <br /> (a)(1) All full-time permanent hourly employees and all sal- <br /> aried employees other than members of the Divisions <br /> of Police and Fire shall become eligible for vaca- <br /> tion upon their employment anniversary date. All <br /> full-time, permanent employees of the City who have <br /> completed one year of service shall be entitled to <br /> two weeks vacation in that year and each succeeding <br /> year through the fourth year of employment. All <br /> full-time permanent employees of the City who have <br /> completed five years of service shall be entitled <br /> to two weeks and two days vacation in that year and <br /> each succeeding year through the ninth year of <br /> employment. All full-time, permanent employees who <br /> have completed ten years of service shall be entitl- <br /> ed to three weeks vacation in that year and each <br /> succeeding year through the fourteenth year of em- <br /> ployment. All full-time permanent employees who <br /> have completed fifteen years of service shall be <br /> entitled to four weeks vacation in that year and <br /> all subsequent years of employment. All full-time <br /> permanent employees who have completed twenty-five <br /> years of service shall be entitled to five weeks <br /> vacation in that year and all subsequent years of <br /> employment. <br /> <br /> shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 149.08 VACATIONS. <br /> <br /> (a)(1) Vacation time for all full-time permanent hourly em- <br /> ployees and all annual salaried employees, other <br /> than members of the Divisions of Police and Fire, <br /> shall be earned in one calendar year and taken in a <br /> subsequent year. Probationary employees shall re- <br /> ceive no vacation time during their probationary <br /> period, but will receive, credit upon expiration of <br /> their probationary period for all time spent as a <br /> probationary employee. <br /> <br /> Vacation time earned during the first calendar year <br /> of employment shall be in accordance with the follow- <br /> ing schedule to reflect service time frQm the date <br /> of employment to December 31 of that firs~ year: <br /> <br /> <br />
