ORDINANCE NO. 48-84 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, Satmon, Wendting AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend paragraph (a)(1) of Section 149.08 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relat- ing to vacations. WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That paragraph (a)(1) of Section 149.08 of the Adminsitra- tire Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now reading as fol- lows: 149.08 VACATIONS. (a)(1) All full-time permanent hourly employees and all sal- aried employees other than members of the Divisions of Police and Fire shall become eligible for vaca- tion upon their employment anniversary date. All full-time, permanent employees of the City who have completed one year of service shall be entitled to two weeks vacation in that year and each succeeding year through the fourth year of employment. All full-time permanent employees of the City who have completed five years of service shall be entitled to two weeks and two days vacation in that year and each succeeding year through the ninth year of employment. All full-time, permanent employees who have completed ten years of service shall be entitl- ed to three weeks vacation in that year and each succeeding year through the fourteenth year of em- ployment. All full-time permanent employees who have completed fifteen years of service shall be entitled to four weeks vacation in that year and all subsequent years of employment. All full-time permanent employees who have completed twenty-five years of service shall be entitled to five weeks vacation in that year and all subsequent years of employment. shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 149.08 VACATIONS. (a)(1) Vacation time for all full-time permanent hourly em- ployees and all annual salaried employees, other than members of the Divisions of Police and Fire, shall be earned in one calendar year and taken in a subsequent year. Probationary employees shall re- ceive no vacation time during their probationary period, but will receive, credit upon expiration of their probationary period for all time spent as a probationary employee. Vacation time earned during the first calendar year of employment shall be in accordance with the follow- ing schedule to reflect service time frQm the date of employment to December 31 of that firs~ year:
