ORDINANCE NO: 63-84 BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Gallagher, <br />Graham, McBride, <br />Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the City Engineer to <br />advertise for bids and enter into a~contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder after advertisement according to law for the installation <br />of a new athletic field and existing facility~relocati°ns at Madison <br />p~v~ ~n the City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, Council has determined that there is a need for <br />an athletic field and relocation of existing facilities at Madison <br />Park in Lakewood, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has authorized the preparation of <br />construction drawings and specifications by the Engineering Depart- <br />ment of the City, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br /> providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department <br /> and for the immediate preservation of t'he public safety and wel- <br /> fare; now, therefore <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br /> STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a <br /> contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement <br /> according to law for the installation of a new athletic field <br /> and existing facility relocations at Madison Park in the City <br /> of Lakewoodo <br /> Section 2. That the cost of such improvements is estimated <br /> at $167,000, which funds are to be made available from the 1984 Com- <br /> munity Development Block Grant Funds. <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br /> actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br /> this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br /> that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br /> committees that resulted in such fori~al action, were in meetings <br /> open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements in- <br /> cluding SectiOn 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br /> an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br /> and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br /> members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br /> i~ediately upon its adoption and approval by the MaYor; otherwise <br /> it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br /> allowed by law. ~~ :,~ <br /> <br />VICE PRESIDENT <br /> <br />ApprOve' ~, / <br /> / - <br /> <br /> <br />
