ORDINANCE NO. 94-84 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Personnel Director of the City <br />of Lakewood to employ a nurse/coordinator by employment contract for services <br />to be rendered to the Office on Aging. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Commission on Aging, Inc. was awarded a grant <br />by the Junior League of Greater Cleveland in 'the amount of $8,250 to be used <br />specifically to hire a nurse/coordinator part-time for a period of thirty-seven <br />weeks to develope a comprehensive home service delivery system, and <br /> WHEREAS, said Lakewood Commission on Aging, Inc. has donated said <br />funds to the City and the City has accepted same for the specific purpose of <br />engaging a nurse/coordinator, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health and welfare and for the <br />usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Personnel Director of the City of Lakewood is <br /> hereby authorized and directed to engage the services of a nurse/coordinator <br /> for the Office on Aging by private employment contract, which contract shall <br /> provide that the costs of services rendered shall not exceed $8,250; that the <br /> nurse/co-ordinator shall be employed on a part-time basis with hours not to <br /> exceed 20 hours per week; and that said nurse/coordinator shall be engaged for <br /> a period not to exceed thirty-seven weeks to develope a comprehensive home <br /> service delivery system for the Office on Aging with compensation to be paid <br /> periodically as shall be agreed upon. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of the services of the nurse/coordinator <br /> for the Office on Aging shall be paid from the gift in the amount of $8,250 <br /> from the Lakewood Commission on Aging, Inc. to the City of Lakewood. <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br /> adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br /> this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br /> were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br /> the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br /> take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br /> Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest <br /> period allowed by law. <br /> <br /> U - '/ ~RES~I)ENT ~ ~ <br /> <br />Approved:~~/ <br /> <br /> <br />
