Notice may be by telephone or <br />by residence service to the last known address <br />of such owner or harborer. The dog shall not <br />be released except upon the payment of the <br />following charges: for impounding any dog, <br />five dollars ($5.00); for giving notice, five <br />dollars ($5.00); for keeping any dog, six <br />dollars ($6.00) per day. Any dog not redeemed <br />by the next working day after notice, as <br />herein provided, is given to the owner or <br />hareborer, or the next working day following <br />the date it is seized or impounded if the <br />owner or harborer cannot be found, may be sold <br />or otherwise disposed of as provided in Ohio <br />R.C. 955.16. <br /> <br />(b) If the impounded cat is wearing an iden- <br />tification tag or the identity of the owner or <br />harborer is otherwise established, notice <br />shall be given wi thin two days to such owner <br />or harborer that the cat has been impounded. <br />Notice may be by telephone or by residence <br />service to the last known address of such <br />owner or harborer. The cat shall not be re- <br />leased except upon the payment of the fol- <br />lowing charges: for impounding any cat, five <br />dollars ($5.00); for keeping any cat five <br />dollars ($5.00) per day. Any cat not redeemed <br />within three days after notice is given to the <br />owner or harborer as provided herein, or <br />within three days of the time such cat is <br />seized or impounded, if the owner or harborer <br />cannot be found, may be sold or otherwise <br />disposed of in a humane manner as shall be <br />determined by the animal warden. <br /> <br />(c) A record of all dogs and cats impounded, <br />the disposition of the same, the owner's name <br />and address, if known, and a statement of any <br />costs or receipts involving such dog or cat <br />shall be kept. <br /> <br />505·04 ANNUAL REGISTRATION OF DOGS; TAGS RE- <br />QUIRED. <br /> <br />(a) Except for guide dogs registered under <br />Ohio R.C. 955.011 and dogs kept by an insti tu- <br />tion or organization for teaching and re- <br />search purp·oses under Ohio R.C. 955.16, no <br />person shall own, keep or harbor a dog more <br />than three months of age without annually <br />registering such dog with the County Auditor. <br />Failure of any dog at any time to wear a <br />valid registration tag shall be prima-facie <br />evidence of lack of registration and subj ect <br />such dog to impounding and disposition as <br />provided hy Ohio R.C. 955.16. <br /> <br />3 <br />
