Placed on First Reading: 5-5-86 <br />Placed on Second Readi6~: 5-19-86 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 56'86 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE approving the compensation of employees of Lakewood <br />Hospital, establishing other benefits for certain employees as fixed by the <br />Board of Trustees, and repealing Ordinance No. 21-84 adopted on March 19, 1984. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood Hospital recognizes its employees as a valuable asset to <br />the institution and further recognizes their role in providing quality health <br />care to the users of the HOspital facility, and · <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood Hospital endeavors to offer its employees fair and compe- <br />titive compensatio~ for their services, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hospital Administration has conducted a review of the present <br />salary structure by ,comparing the compensation offered to HosPital employees <br />with that offered by other area hospitals, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees of Lakewood Hospi- <br />tal reviewed the 1986 operating budget including the proposed salary increases <br />and recommended to the Board of Trustees a 1986 general salary increase, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of Lakewood Hospital, pursuant to Resolution <br />960.adopted January 9, 1986, has created certain positions and fixed salaries of <br />the employees of Lakewood Hospital, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the amended Charter of the' City of Lakewood, pursuant to Article <br />XX,]Section 3 provides that the Board of Trustees shall employ such employees as <br />said Board deems necessary, and fix their compensation, subject to the approval <br />of Council, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency exists for the immediate preservation of the public <br />peace, property, health or safety and to provide for the usual daily operation <br />of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensation fixed for employees of Lakewood Hospital <br />as recommended by the Board of Trustees pursuant to Resolution 815, adopted on <br />December 20, 1983, be and the same is hereby approved by this Council and shall <br />be fixed by the Board of Trustees within the following schedule effective June <br />22, 1986: <br /> <br />- j <br /> <br /> <br />
