ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />73-86 <br /> <br /> BY:Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Wendling, Graham, McBride, Salmon <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the <br />President of Lakewood City Council to engage Anne B. Camper as special <br />consultant to assist Council in evaluating the Lease Agreement <br />received from the administration of Lakewood Hospital in connection <br />with the proposed lease of the Hospi%al, and to assist Council in <br />reviewing other alternative courses of action ~egarding the future of <br />Lakewood Hospital. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council is in receipt of a Lease Agreement received <br />from the administration of Lakewood Hospital which was prepared in <br />connection with the proposed lease of Lakewood Hospital, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to properly evaluate the Lease Agreement, <br />Council determines that the employment of a consultant to advise it in <br />such matters is necessary and advisable, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anne B. Camper of the <br />Goldstein, Frazer and Murphy, Washington D.C. <br />found qualified to discharge such taskw and <br /> <br />law firm of Powell, <br /> has been examined and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health and <br />welfare and for the further reason that a consultant should be <br />retained at the earliest possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the President of Council be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to engage Anne B. Camper, attorney at <br />law, c/o Powell, Goldstein Frazer and Murphy, Suite 1050, 1110 <br />Vermont Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. as special consultant to assist <br />Council in evaluating the Lease Agreement received from the <br />administration of Lakewood Hospital in connection with the proposed <br />lease of the Hospital and to assist Council in reviewing other <br />alternative courses of action regarding the future of Lakewood <br />Hospital. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the fee of the consultant for <br />rendered shall be at the rate of $115.00 per hour and shall <br />from the General Fund~ and shall not exceed $8,500.00. <br /> <br />services <br />be paid <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br />ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br />all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the <br />public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section <br />121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
