Placed on First Read.in~.~..on.~a¥ 18, 1987 <br />Placed on Second Read'in~bn Jbn~e 1, 1987 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />46-87 BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Chinnock, Salmon, <br />Wendling <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE fixing the salary of the Mayor of the City <br />Lakewood effective January 1, 1988. <br /> <br />of <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article II, Section 5 of the Amended Charter of the <br />City of Lakewood privides that the salary of the Mayor shall be <br />established by ordinance of Council, provided such ordinance shall be <br />adopted not less than thirty (30) days prior to the final date fixed <br />by law for the filing of nominating petitions by candidates for the <br />Office of Mayor for the term to be effected thereby, and ~. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the final date fixed by law for the <br />nominating petitions for candidates for the Office of Mayor <br />term beginning January 1, 1988, is July 16, 1987, and <br /> <br />filing of <br /> for the <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XIII, Section 7 of the Amended <br />Charter of the City of Lakewood, the Civil Service Commission has <br />recommended a nominal cost of living increase in the salary of the <br />Mayor, to wit, a 3.41% increase for 1988; a 2.47% increase for 1989; <br />a 2.41% increase for 1990; and a 2.36% increase for the year 1991 and <br />thereafter, in which recommendation this Council concurs; nQw, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Commencing January 1, 1988, the salary of the <br />Mayor of the City of Lakewood shall be Sixty Thousand Five Hundred <br />($60,500.00) Dollars for the period January 1, 1988 through December <br />31, 1988; Sixty Two Thousand ($62,000.00) Dollars for the period <br />January 1, 1989 through December 31, 1989; Sixty Three Thousand Five <br />Hundred ($63,500.00) Dollars for the period January 1, 1990 through <br />December 31, 1990; and Sixty Five Thousand ($65,000.00) Dollars for <br />the calendar year 1991 and thereafter, said salary payable in equal <br />installments every two (2) weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the'passage of this <br />ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br />all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in force from and <br />after the earliest period allowed by law provided, however, that the <br />salary of the Mayor as herein provided shall take effect January 1, <br />1988, and Ordinance 53-83 adopted July 5, 1983, shall be and the same <br />is hereby repealed at such time. <br /> <br />DENT <br /> <br /> <br />
