ORDINANCE NO. 85-87 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor to enter <br />into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Human Services <br />and the City of Euclid to continue the City's participation <br />in the temporary emergency food assistance program. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since June of 1985, <br />has made available to qualifying <br />surplus commodities, and <br /> <br />the City of Lakewood <br /> residents government <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the availability of these commodities <br />a benefit to many of our City's residents, and <br /> <br />is <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the acquisition, storage and distribution <br />of government surplus commodities has been efficiently <br />and effectively facilitated by the City's Department of <br />Public Works, Divison of Parks, Office on Aging and Lakewood <br />Christian Service Center, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency <br />measure providing for the immediate preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily <br />operation of the municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with <br />the Ohio Department of Human Services and the City of <br />Euclid relative to the Emergency Food Assistance Program; <br />said agreement to be substantially in the form of Exhibit <br />A, attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the <br />passage of this Ordinance were adopted in an open meeting <br />of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this <br />Council and of any of its committees that resulted in <br />such formal action, were in meetings open to the public. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the <br />preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br />it shall take effect <br />its adoption and approval <br />shall take effect and <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted:~ <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />be in force ~~period <br /> <br /> <br />
